HUMILITY

1 Pet. 5:6 -; James 4:7, 10; Luke 22:26, 27; Phil. 2:5

I Humble myself under the Mighty Hand of God, that He may exalt me in due time, I cast all my cares upon Him, for he cares for me.  I'm sober, i'm vigilant; because the adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. I resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by my brothers in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called me to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after I have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle me.  I submit myself to God. I resist the devil and he will flee from me. I draw near to God and He will draw near to me. I humble myself in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift me up. I let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind I esteem others better than myself. I look out not only for my own interests, but also for the interests of others.
